The Times of India (TOI) newspaper has reported that there are around 3,000 illegal agencies in India as over 680 cases of Indians fleeing the country illegally were reported since 2020.
As per TOI, 56 of the 2,925 agencies are in Gujarat and 80 in Karnataka—The Times of India—according to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
Agents of illegal agencies operate on social media websites like Facebook, WhatsApp, messaging and other websites. “Illegal agents send Indian citizens to countries like U.K., U.S.A. and Canada and force them to live worst life,” the Indian newspaper reported.

India's capital Delhi topped the list with the highest number of illegal agencies—1,832 agencies.
Ministry of External Affairs said that there are about 3,000 agencies in India that have cheated job aspirants abroad.
On December 21, French authorities and police badly foiled the illegal transfer of 300 people by India. On receiving secret information, the French authorities detained the charter plane for four days in France in view of possible illegal entry.
The passengers planned to illegally enter the United States or Canada to reach Central America.
