Awam Pakistan Party (APP) convener Shahid Khaqan Abbasi urged on Friday the need for consulting all the political parties for the sake of the supremacy of the country's constitution.
Addressing a press conference following the meeting of the opposition leaders in Islamabad, Abbasi said: "The solution to all the problems is merely to think about the supremacy of the constitution."
"Everybody who is political enlightened will be the part of this journey that is meant for the uplift of the constitution," said Abbasi.
Meanwhile, expressing his thoughts, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Mahmood Khan Achakzai said: "We would also like to invite the judges along with the lawyers and journalists."
"The struggle will be started for the supremacy of the constitution," said Achakzai.
Speaking about JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Achakzai stated: "Maulana Fazlur Rehman will be on the front foot in this regard and spearhead us with verve."
On this occasion, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser said: "The struggle will be done for the supremacy of the constitution, an independent judiciary, and robust democracy."
"The sole purpose of this struggle is to ensure the supremacy of the law in the country," said the former National Assembly speaker.
Speaking about PTI founder Imran Khan's sentence in a corruption case, Qaiser claimed, "The questions have been raised on the judiciary following the sentence to Imran Khan."
"The judiciary has been used to prevent the executive," said Qaiser.
"The country cannot move forward unless the nation gets united," he maintained.
