The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and DP World have dispatched their first joint cargo convoy from Karachi to Central Asian states, marking a significant development in regional trade connectivity.
The inaugural shipment, comprising multiple cargo containers, was launched during a ceremony in Karachi attended by DP World Group Chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, along with senior executives from both organizations and prominent business leaders.
"This collaboration between our institutions marks the beginning of a new era in promoting regional connectivity and trade," said Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem during the launch ceremony. He emphasized that the partnership would leverage NLC's regional presence and DP World's global network to create substantial business opportunities and strengthen economic activities.
The joint venture aims to reduce transportation costs and delivery times significantly, streamlining cargo movement between Pakistan and Central Asian markets. According to the NLC Director General, the initiative will have far-reaching implications for regional trade and benefit the broader business community throughout the region.
The new service represents a practical demonstration of both organizations' commitment to ensuring regional trade development through an integrated transportation system. Officials maintain that the seamless trade corridor will contribute to Pakistan's economic growth and prosperity.
The partnership combines DP World's international logistics expertise with NLC's established presence in the region, creating an efficient supply chain solution for businesses operating between Pakistan and Central Asian markets.
This development comes as Pakistan seeks to strengthen its position as a vital trade hub connecting South Asia with Central Asian economies, reflecting broader regional economic integration efforts.
