Federal Minister Abdul Aleem Khan issued on Thursday a scathing response to the Indian army chief's recent anti-Pakistan statement, labelling it baseless and an insidious attempt to undermine peace in the region.
Expressing his thoughts, Aleem Khan demanded an apology from India for the provocative remarks. The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) stated, "The Indian army chief's statement is a fabricated narrative and a malicious effort to sabotage regional peace."
The minister said, "Such irresponsible comments cannot tarnish or overshadow Pakistan's consistent efforts for peace."
He further emphasised that Pakistan had always promoted stability, harmony, and brotherhood in the region.
Highlighting India's controversial role in Kashmir, Aleem Khan said, "India, after usurping the Kashmiris' right to freedom, has no moral standing to cast aspersions on others. Such statements reflect sheer short-sightedness and deserve condemnation."
The IPP president criticised the Indian leadership for its lack of accountability and urged it to adopt a more responsible approach. "India must feel ashamed of its behaviour and apologise for issuing such a statement," Khan said.
