Armed bandits abducted five police officials, including the Station House Officer (SHO) in an attack on the Kot Shahu police station situated in Kacha area of Shikarpur, said reports on Wednesday.
Reports citing sources said that the incident occurred late on Monday evening when a group of unidentified armed assailants stormed the police station.
According to police sources, the criminals abducted the police station staff, which included SHO Mehboob Brohi and his son Muhammad Ali, Secretary Naseem Gopang, as well as two officials – Ayaz and Jan Muhammad Bhakrani.
The assailants then fled the scene, taking their captives to an undisclosed location.
Law enforcement agencies swiftly responded to the incident. A heavy police force was dispatched to the region in a determined effort to rescue the kidnapped police officials.
This incident is not an isolated one in the area. Just three days ago, bandits kidnapped an official from the Rustam checkpoint.
