In a bid to address environmental and traffic concerns, the Lahore High Court (LHC) Thursday directed authorities to impose hefty fines of Rs5,000 for wrong parking and Rs3,000 for home car washers.
The court has issued orders imposing fines of Rs5,000 on individuals who park their cars in unauthorized areas and Rs3,000 on those who wash their vehicles at home.
The decision comes as part of an ongoing hearing related to smog remediation in the provincial capital.
The court has emphasized that the collected fines will contribute to the funds of the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) and will support water-related initiatives.
Additionally, the Judicial Water Commission has suggested that individuals failing to wear helmets while riding motorcycles should also face penalties, with proposed fines set at Rs2,000.
