In Rochdale, two special needs youth, Aman Majid and Hamas Majid, decorated their home with Pakistani flags. Despite physical disabilities, the brothers celebrated on wheelchairs, holding flags and chanting "Pakistan Zindabad" (Long Live Pakistan).
Overseas Pakistanis used the occasion to express solidarity with Pakistan's armed forces and other security institutions. The Independence Day celebrations reflected the significance of freedom in the life of nations, with Pakistan's diaspora marking the day with national fervor.
