The matter of the Senate’s approval of the 27th amendment has taken a new turn as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited senators from the allied parties.
Sources divulged on Saturday, the senators belonging to the government and its coalition partners have received invitations from the premier. The sources privy to the development further said that PM Shehbaz will meet with the government and allied senators tomorrow evening at 6:30 pm.
It has also been reported that the premier will host a dinner in honour of the senators following the meeting.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar said on Saturday that talks on amendment will continue until full consensus reached.
PPP senior leader Farooq H. Naek has chaired an in-camera meeting of the joint committee. Subsequently, after the meeting, Tarar said that all of the political parties have been invited, adding that it is the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl's (JUI-F) democratic right to boycott the meeting.
Tarar maintained: "All the members have watched the draft for the constitutional amendment with the seriousness today. Aliya Kamran received a phone call, after she said that they will not attend the meeting.”
