Pakistan, alongside a broad coalition of Arab and Muslim nations and international organizations, has strongly condemned Israel’s recent legislative attempts to impose its so-called “sovereignty” over the occupied West Bank.
In a joint statement issued on Thursday through the Foreign Ministry, the group denounced the Israeli Knesset’s approval of two draft laws that aim to annex the occupied Palestinian territories — a move they described as a “blatant violation of international law” and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334.
The declaration was co-signed by Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Gambia, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Malaysia, Egypt, Nigeria, the League of Arab States, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The countries jointly reaffirmed that Israel holds no sovereignty over any part of the occupied Palestinian lands, including East Jerusalem, and that all unilateral measures aimed at altering the demographic and legal status of these territories are null and void.
Violation of international law, UN resolutions
The statement underscored that Israel’s actions directly contravene UN Security Council Resolution 2334, which explicitly rejects all Israeli measures designed to change the demographic composition and status of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967.

It also referenced the October 22, 2025 Advisory Opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), which reaffirmed that Israel is obligated under international humanitarian law to ensure the population of the occupied territories, including Gaza, has access to essential supplies and humanitarian relief.
ICJ advisory opinion welcomed
The countries welcomed the ICJ’s ruling, which reaffirmed the prohibition of starvation as a method of warfare and denounced Israel’s obstruction of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The Court also reaffirmed the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and independent statehood, reiterating that Israel’s territorial claims over East Jerusalem are “null and void.” It noted that the so-called “Law to Cease UNRWA Operations in the Territory of the State of Israel,” which extends to East Jerusalem, violates international law and UN mandates.
Call for international accountability
The coalition warned Israel against continuing its illegal and unilateral actions, urging the international community to uphold its moral and legal responsibilities by compelling Israel to cease its unlawful measures and end its occupation of Palestinian land.
They emphasized that a sovereign and independent Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, remains the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace that ensures security and stability in the Middle East.
Pakistan reiterates unwavering support for Palestine
Reaffirming its longstanding stance, Pakistan reiterated its full support for the Palestinian cause and the two-state solution, calling on the UN and international partners to act decisively to prevent further violations of international law and humanitarian principles.
