The latest hearing was conducted in the court of Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo, where suspect Ducky Bhai was produced. The case pertains to the alleged promotion and advertisement for a gambling application, an act that falls under cyber and moral offence categories being scrutinized by the authorities.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has formally registered a case against the accused individuals involved in the campaign.
Court summons co-accused Aroob Jatoi and Subhan
During Monday’s proceedings, the court ordered Ducky Bhai's wife, Aroob Jatoi, and Subhan, who serves as Ducky Bhai’s manager, to appear in the next hearing. Following the brief hearing, the court adjourned the proceedings till November 3, allowing time for the co-accused to respond to the summons.
Last week, the NCCIA had submitted a challan in the online gambling promotion case against the YouTuber and several others to the district court.
According to details, the NCCIA also provided a list of nine witnesses in the case. The challan names Ducky, his wife, and manager Subhan as the main accused. Additionally, Areeb, the husband of YouTuber Iqra Kanwal, was declared a proclaimed offender in the case.
The challan states that during his physical remand, Ducky Bhai confessed to being involved in promoting online gambling. Investigations revealed that he earned millions of rupees through gambling promotions, with Rs210 million discovered in his two bank accounts. The document further notes that Dicky’s wife was also involved in the gambling promotion activities.
On Oct 14, the Lahore sessions court had dismissed the bail application of Ducky Bhai. Additional Sessions Judge Sajida Chaudhry had earlier reserved the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides.
The NCCIA has registered a case against him, alleging his involvement in the promotion of gambling applications, including Binomo.
Arrest at Lahore airport
Authorities detained Ducky Bhai on August 17 at Lahore airport while he was attempting to travel abroad. His name had already been placed on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL), which barred him from leaving the country.
Following his arrest, the YouTuber was handed over to the NCCIA on a two-day physical remand. The court had directed investigators to submit a detailed report on the case at subsequent hearings.
