The Sindh Education Department has issued a strict notification banning the use of cigarettes, vape, betel nut (chhalia), and gutka in all educational institutions across the province.
The restriction applies not only to students but also to teachers and staff.
Ban enforced across public, private institutions
According to the official notification, smoking and the use of intoxicants have been prohibited in both government and private schools, colleges, and universities. The department made it clear that the ban is comprehensive and leaves no room for exceptions.
Teachers also included in restriction
The Sindh Education Department emphasized that the ban is not limited to students. Teachers, administrative staff, and other employees working in educational institutions will also be barred from using cigarettes, vape, chhalia, and gutka within premises.
Strict action against violators
The notification further warned that strict action will be taken against anyone found using any kind of intoxicant within educational institutions. Authorities stressed that the decision aims to create a healthy and safe environment for learning.
