Prime Minister Shehbaz condemned on Saturday Israel’s unjustified aggression against Iran, reaffirming that Pakistan stands firmly with the Iranian government and people.
According to details, PM Shehbaz held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to express Pakistan’s solidarity with Iran in the wake of recent Israeli attacks.
“These attacks constitute a violation of Iranian sovereignty and territorial integrity,” stated the premier, adding that they also contravene the United Nations Charter and international law.
He emphasised that under Article 51 of the UN Charter, Iran has the right to self-defence in response to acts of aggression.
PM Shehbaz has extended heartfelt condolences to President Pezeshkian over the loss of precious lives caused by the Israeli strikes.
He also reiterated Pakistan’s support for Iran in the United Nations Security Council, calling for global attention to Israel’s provocative actions.
“Israel’s adventurism poses a serious threat to regional and global peace and stability,” the prime minister warned.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has contacted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss regional developments.
President Erdogan said: "Israel is attempting to divert attention from what he described as genocide in Gaza by escalating attacks on Iran."
He criticised Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, he is trying to ignite the region and sabotage nuclear negotiations.

The two leaders exchanged views on Israel’s unprovoked and unjustified aggression against Iran.
They agreed that Israel had violated Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The leaders concurred that the Israeli strikes were a clear violation of the United Nations Charter and international law.
They expressed concern that such actions posed serious threats to regional and global peace and stability.
Both leaders also strongly condemned Israel’s brutal military aggression against the Palestinian people.
In light of the current situation, they agreed that the international community and the United Nations must take collective action.
The two leaders called on Israel to immediately cease its aggressive posture and unlawful actions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm and unwavering commitment to maintaining international peace, security, and stability.
He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role for peace at international forums.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar will represent Pakistan at the upcoming OIC meeting in Istanbul, the Prime Minister confirmed.
Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated President Erdogan on receiving the honour from the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact on the evolving regional situation, according to the official statement.
