Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday informed Afghanistan’s Acting Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, about India’s ongoing provocative and illegal unilateral actions against Pakistan.
According to official sources, the two leaders spoke during a telephone conversation. During the call, Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and safeguarding its sovereignty.
Muttaqi appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in facilitating travel and streamlining trade processes between the two countries.
Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the recent progress in Afghanistan–Pakistan relations. Muttaqi reiterated his invitation for Dar to visit Afghanistan and extended his best wishes to the government and people of Pakistan.

Separately, earlier on Monday, Dar emphasised that Pakistan remains a responsible and peace-seeking nation, yet will respond with firmness and proportionality if faced with aggression. “Our desire for peace must not be construed as weakness,” he stated, adding that Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms, without exception.
Dar strongly criticized the rising Islamophobic discourse in India, particularly the targeting of Muslims and Kashmiris. He also addressed India’s move to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a serious breach of international law and a direct threat to regional stability.
