Former national assembly speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Hassan Murtaza exchanged views on the country's political situation following the general elections on Friday.
Murtaza called on Ashraf in Islamabad. On this occasion, the Murtaza felicitated Ashraf for emerging victorious in the recently held elections.

On Thursday, the PPP Coordination Committee apprised former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari about the dialogues with the political parties.
According to details, the members of the coordination committee called on Bhutto-Zardari at Zardari House in Islamabad.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Qamar Zaman Kaira, Murad Ali Shah, Sanaullah Zehri, Shuja Khan, Saeed Ghani, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Bahadur Khan Sehar.

Few days back, the PPP decided to field Asif Ali Zardari for the role of president.
Sources divulged the Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting was briefed that the party had reached a deal with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). The PPP was looking to secure the posts of senate chairman, and provincial governors.
During the CEC meeting, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari burst into tears, while mentioning the attacks on PPP workers and candidates.
Bhutto-Zardari said: "Our workers were tortured, and the PPP's mandate had been snatched."
