Preparations for the upcoming 2024 general elections in Punjab, Pakistan are in full swing, an important move was made to ensure safety and keep an eye on things. The Safe Cities Authority, Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), and the National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) joined hands by signing an agreement.
The agreement for security of Election 2024 endorsed in the presence of Inspector General (IG) Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, talks about getting 29,000 cameras for monitoring general elections. The whole plan costs Rs1.35 billion.

Dr. Usman Anwar, said these cameras are crucial for keeping an eye on the elections. He pointed out that these new cameras are equipped with night vision, making sure everything stays safe and peaceful during the voting.
“The new cameras will be equipped with advanced night vision technology,” says IG Punjab.
Also, the agreement says that after the elections, these cameras will belong to the Punjab government. Dr. Usman Anwar, IG Punjab, made it clear that everyone involved is committed to using all resources to make sure the elections in Punjab happen peacefully.
