Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Friday said the Al-Qadir Univrsity was in her hands now, where she will distribute the scholarships to the students.
Addressing an event in Okara, CM Maryam took a dig at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran, saying, “The Higher Power sees everything. He becomes the first premier to be ousted for taking the bribery.”
Expressing her thoughts, CM Maryam assailed the PTI founder and compared the latter with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif.
CM Maryam said, "My father [Nawaz Sharif] has served the country for 45 years, but still he was falsely accused of plundering."
"Today, the person who used to label the others as the thieves himself has proved guilty of taking bribery," she maintained.
“We will teach you [students] religion instead of telling the ways of casting the magical spell,” she said.
She said, “The unrest cannot exist for long in the country, but the uplift of the masses is uplift.”
“We have been labelled as the thieves. Nawaz Sharif was removed from the office of the prime minister on the basis of iqama.”
She stressed the need for embracing the unity in the country, saying, “The country cannot bear the brunt of hatred anymore.”
“There is a need to get civilised. The political differences should be made gently and with logic,” she added.
The chief minister lamented, “In many of the gatherings, the opponents had spoken against me.”
CM Maryam said, “What about those children who were asked to spread incitement in the country?”
“The children were asked to attack the police.”
Meanwhile, CM Maryam urged the masses to extend support to her for the prosperity of the province. “It is due to the prayers of my parents that I have become the chief minister.”
“No matter what the problems are, we will steer the country towards the development,” she said.
On the other side, CM Maryam had also distributed the cheque to the deserving students in line with the “Honohaar Scholarship Programme.”.
She lavished her praise on Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar, saying, “Rana Sikandar has made his place in the hearts of the Punjab students.”
“I think about you [students] more than my own children,” CM Maryam stated.
She continued, “I have not spent a single day of January in my office.”
CM Punjab also vowed to establish the medical college in Okara soon.
She said, “There is not a single student who has not obtained the scholarship on merit.”
