In a welcome development for consumers, the price of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) has been reduced by Rs 20 per kilogram, bringing down the cost from Rs 300 to Rs 280 per kg.
The reduction is anticipated to provide significant relief to households and businesses reliant on LPG for various purposes.
Irfan Khokhar, Chairman of the LPG Distribution Association, announced the price cut, stating that the cost of a domestic cylinder has now decreased by Rs 230, while the price of a commercial cylinder has seen a substantial reduction of Rs 900.
Khokhar also hinted at the possibility of further price reductions in the next 48 hours, attributing the positive trend to the improvement in Pakistan-Iran relations. The recent diplomatic developments have disrupted the plans of so-called "gas mafias," as fears of an international LPG price drop have left them grappling with shattered dreams.
The reduction in LPG prices aligns with the government's efforts to mitigate the impact of inflation on the general public. As consumers welcome the relief, attention is now focused on whether the downward trend in LPG prices will continue in the coming days.
