Awami Muslim League supremo Sheikh Rasheed has been arrested from Lal Haveli in Rawalpindi along with his two relatives on Sunday.
SAMAA TV reported that the Police did not confirm the arrest. Sheikh Rasheed lawyer Sardar Abdur Razak claimed that Sheikh Rasheed has been arrested.
Sheikh Rashid, a prominent leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML) and an ally of the PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf), was apprehended at his Rawalpindi residence on Sunday evening, as confirmed by his lawyer, Sardar Abdul Razzak Khan.
Khan revealed that Rashid was taken into custody by individuals dressed in plain clothes and subsequently transported to an undisclosed location. Additionally, he informed that Sheikh Rashid's nephew, Sheikh Shakir, and a household employee named Imran had also been arrested.
The PTI acknowledged Sheikh Rashid's arrest through a social media post on platform X, stating, "The ongoing political victimization and authoritarianism persist with the arrest of Sheikh Rashid."
