Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir paid a visit to the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) Wah on Tuesday, according to the military’s media wing.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), during the visit, the COAS received a comprehensive briefing on the production capabilities of POF, its significant contributions to meeting the defence needs of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and its potential for export.
Witnessing a diverse array of POF products, including newly designed and locally manufactured weapons and ammunition undergoing tests and trials, the COAS gained insight into the cutting-edge developments within the facility.
Addressing the officers and staff of POF, General Asim Munir commended their dedication, acknowledging the pivotal role POF plays in both the security and economy of the country and positioning it as the primary defence industry in Pakistan.
"The path to national progress is shaped by indigenous industries like POF Wah. Our commitment remains steadfast in fostering self-reliance and embracing the latest technology, crucial elements in ensuring the reliability and strengthening the defence capabilities of Pakistan," remarked COAS.
Upon his arrival, the COAS was warmly received by the Chairman of POF Wah.
