Social media influencer and TikTok star Imsha Rehman - who rose to fame for her engaging digital content - has recently broken her silence over the fake video scandal that shook her online presence and personal life last November.
The incident, which led to a surge of online abuse and threats, compelled her to deactivate her social media accounts.
In an ivnterview with a Dubai-based media outlet, Imsha Rehman - who has garnered over 200,000 followers on TikTok - expressed the devastating impact the incident has had on her. "I saw the video on the internet, and after that, it destroyed my whole life," she shared.
"I can’t go to university. I can’t face people. I have been facing a lot of death threats."
Rehman also emphasized the psychological toll the scandal has taken, adding, "People on social media think that it is quite a cool thing to make videos of others and disseminate them on social media. But they forget about its consequences on the other person."
The influencer made it clear that despite the public pressure to respond immediately, she chose to pursue legal action rather than engage in further public disputes. "I could have responded to the scandal, but I wanted to take legal action against them," Rehman stated.
"Our FIA is capable of much more. They have already arrested the culprit, and he is behind bars. The FIA officials have also said that the victims should not stay quiet and should take legal actions so that such criminals get the punishment."
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which has been active in tackling cybercrimes and online harassment, arrested the individual responsible for the leak, highlighting the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for such actions.
