Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited Balochistan where he received a comprehensive briefing on the current security situation in the province. The session was attended by senior security and intelligence officials.
During his visit, the COAS, along with the governor and chief minister of Balochistan, offered funeral prayers for the martyrs and visited injured soldiers at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta. He lauded the “unwavering commitment” and courage of the soldiers in defending the country at all costs.
Addressing the security situation, General Asim Munir strongly condemned the role of terrorist proxies serving "their foreign masters". He criticized those who have "mastered the art of manifesting double standards of hunting with the hound and running with the hare", acting as “frenemies” by pretending to be allies while supporting hostile elements.
“No matter what these so-called 'frenemies' may do, you will surely be defeated by the resilience of our proud nation and its Armed Forces Inshallah,” he affirmed. "For the defence of our motherland and its people, we will definitely retaliate and ‘hunt you down’, whenever required and wherever you may be."
The COAS emphasized that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to retaliate whenever and wherever necessary, ensuring the defence of the motherland and its people. “We will hunt down those responsible for harming our nation,” he stated.
General Munir also praised the valiant efforts of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, and other law enforcement agencies for their "courage and determination" in combating terrorism. He reaffirmed the army’s strong commitment to the security and well-being of the people of Balochistan and assured continued support to the provincial government in its efforts to promote peace, stability, and development in the region.

Gen Asim Munir's visit comes in the wake of a brutal terrorist attack that martyred 18 soldiers of the Frontier Corps in the Mangocher area of Kalat district, Balochistan, during the night of January 31 and February 1.
According to security sources, terrorists attempted to establish illegal roadblocks in the region, aiming to disrupt the peaceful environment of Balochistan. Acting on the behest of "inimical and hostile forces", the attackers targeted innocent civilians in a cowardly act of terror.
The security forces and law enforcement agencies responded swiftly to the situation, launching an immediate counter-operation. The forces successfully neutralized the threat, killing 12 terrorists and ensuring the safety of the local populace.
"Our brave sons fought gallantly, making the ultimate sacrifice for the protection of their fellow citizens," the statement read, highlighting the heroic efforts of the martyred soldiers.
Following the intense operation, security forces initiated comprehensive sanitization efforts in the area to track down and apprehend the remaining perpetrators, facilitators, and abettors involved in the attack.
The armed forces reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan. "Such sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen our resolve to defeat terrorism and its evil designs," the statement concluded.
The nation mourns the loss of its heroes, whose courage and dedication continue to inspire resilience against all threats to Pakistan's sovereignty.
On the other hand, the security forces conducted several sanitization operations in Balochistan, killing 11 terrorists in one such in the Harnai district of Balochistan. Several terrorist hideouts were also destroyed during the operation, as per the Inter-Services Public Relations.
This way, the forces have eliminated 23 terrorists in Balochistan in 24 hours.
