The security sources revealed that Afghanistan remained a friendly and brotherly country to Pakistan, and the recent airstrikes targeted TTP terrorists.
According to the sources, Pakistan desired cordial relations with Afghanistan and did not target Afghan civilians or forces. However, Pakistan expected the interim Afghan government to reciprocate its goodwill and address Pakistan's longstanding demand to take action against TTP militants.
Sources stated that Pakistan targeted the TTP terrorists in self-defence near border areas due to their increasing terrorist activities.
The individuals killed included the TTP terrorists who recently celebrated the martyrdom of 16 Pakistani soldiers in a TTP attack.
Pakistan's military operations directly responded to the growing threat posed by the TTP militants, who remained actively involved in violent attacks against Pakistani citizens and security forces.
Sources further clarified that these airstrikes did not target Afghan civilians or their forces but focused on militants posing a regional and international threat, destabilising both Pakistan and Afghanistan.
