Security forces and law enforcement agencies conducted 59,775 intelligence-based operations throughout 2024, marking an intensive phase in the nation's ongoing counter-terrorism efforts. These operations resulted in the neutralization of 925 terrorists, representing the highest annual figure in the past five years.
Security forces executed an average of 169 operations daily, involving coordinated efforts between the military, intelligence agencies, police, and other law enforcement organizations. Among those neutralized were 73 high-value targets and 27 foreign militants of Afghan origin.
The operations led to significant weapons seizures, including foreign-manufactured arms and ammunition. Law enforcement agencies also successfully disrupted multiple terrorist networks and prevented several planned attacks through timely intelligence-based interventions.
These counter-terrorism initiatives represent a continuation of Pakistan's long-term strategy against militant activities, building on years of security operations across the country. The operations involved various security apparatus components working in coordination to maintain national security.
The year's operations mark a significant milestone in Pakistan's ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, with law enforcement agencies achieving notable success in identifying and neutralizing terrorist networks.
