Known for its rich cultural heritage, Kohat lit up as a symbol of peace with the grand organisation of the "Aman Tonga Rally."
The event revived ancient traditions in the modern era to deliver messages of love, unity, and harmony. The rally, organised with the support of district administration, featured beautifully decorated horses and elegant carriages adorned with national flags.
Tonga enthusiasts actively participated, reflecting their passion for preserving old traditions.
Participants expressed their excitement, highlighting the cultural significance of tongas. They mentioned that the commissioner’s invitation encouraged them to join, as tongas have always held a special appeal.
The rally aimed to promote peace and stability in the region. Kohat Deputy Commissioner Abdul Akram Chitrali led the procession, emphasising the collective commitment to maintain peace in Kohat. He stated that ensuring harmony was crucial for the city’s socio-economic and cultural development.
Moreover, the deputy commissioner said, "We will not allow Kohat’s peace to be disrupted under any circumstances. Everyone stands united to preserve the city’s tranquillity, which is essential for its progress."
Participants displayed their vibrant horses and elegant carriages, calling tongas both a cultural identity and a medium to convey messages of peace.
They noted that this initiative fulfilled a long-felt need to highlight unity through cultural expression.
The rally commenced from University Road, passed through King Gate, and concluded at Tehsil Gate, showcasing the city’s cultural pride and reaffirming its peaceful identity.
