The West Indies cricket team has unveiled its Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against Pakistan, scheduled to be played in Multan from January 17-29, 2025.
Kraigg Brathwaite will lead the Caribbean side, which includes key players such as Joshua de Silva, Kemar Roach, Casey Carty, and Justin Greaves.
The series will serve as the concluding chapter of the two-year World Test Championship cycle and marks the West Indies' first Test tour of Pakistan in 18 years.
Notable among the squad is left-handed batter Amir Jangoo, who earned his maiden Test call-up after a remarkable match-winning ODI century on debut against Bangladesh. Additionally, Gudakesh Motie makes his return to the team after missing the recent drawn series against Bangladesh.
Head Coach Andre Coley expressed optimism about the series, emphasizing its significance as an opportunity for the team to showcase its progress and growth. He also lauded the inclusions of Amir Jangoo and Gudakesh Motie, highlighting their potential contributions.
The team is set to arrive in Islamabad on January 6 to begin preparations for the series. The first Test is scheduled to commence on January 17, while the second and final Test will take place on January 25. Both matches will be hosted at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
