The Punjab School Education Department has imposed a complete ban on winter camps in all schools across the province during the winter holidays.
The directive applies to both private and government institutions and aims to ensure compliance during the vacation period.
According to the department, online classes will be permitted as an alternative to winter camps to maintain students' academic continuity. Officers of the education department have been instructed to enforce the ban strictly and take action against violators.
In a statement, the department warned that strict measures would be taken against schools or individuals attempting to bypass the ban by organizing winter camps. “No school, whether private or government, is allowed to hold winter camps during the holidays,” clarified the department.
The education department had announced winter vacations in schools across the province from December 23. According to the plan, schools will reopen on January 13, 2025, after the winter break. The revised schedule applies to all public and private schools across the province.
