Both the batters and bowlers paved the way for the Pakistan's ODI series win against South Africa as the Green Shirts thumped the Proteas by mammoth 81-run victory in the second ODI at the Newlands in Cape Town on Thursday.
SOUTH AFRICA'S INNINGS
Chasing a staggering 330-run target, the Proteas were bundled out for 240 inside the 44th overs.
Despite facing hiccups, it was once again Heinrich Klaasen, who showed great resistance with the bat, compiling fiery 74-ball 97, studding with eight boundaries and four sixes.
But the fireworks from Klaasen's bat were not enough and he was removed by Naseem Shah.
South African captain Temba Bavuma was struggling with the bat and was removed by Naseem on 17-ball 12.
Tony de Zorzi was looking side, scoring 40-ball 34, complimenting with three boundaries and one six.
Rassie van der Dussen was off to a sensible start, but it was Salman Ali Agha who removed the former on 30-ball 23.
Aiden Markram got a start but he was unable to convert it to big score. He was trapped lbw by Abrar Ahmed,
Markram smashed one boundary and one six in his 30-ball 21.
The tail of South Africa was badly exposed with the bat, with Marco Jansen, Andile Phehlukwayo, Bjorn Fortuin, Kwena Maphaka scored 3, 1, 9 and 1 respectively.
Tabraiz Shamsi remained unbeaten on 2-ball 1.
For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi remained the standout bowler, picking up four wickets.
Naseem Shah (3-37) was impressive with the bowler, bagging three wickets.
Abrar Ahmed (2-48) had put the Proteas' batters to the test by taking two wickets.
Salman Ali Agha (1-71) took a scalp.
PAKISTAN'S INNINGS
Kamran Ghulam’s fiery 32-ball 63, Mohammad Rizwan’s 82-ball 80 and Babar Azam’s cautious 95-ball 73 powered Pakistan to staggering 329 all-out against South Africa.
After put into bat, the Green Shirts faced early hiccup, when Abdullah Shafique made his way back to the pavilion without troubling the scorecard. But, Babar Azam and Saim Ayub tried to revive the Pakistan’s innings and built a 48-run partnership off 53 deliveries.
Saim was undone by Maphaka on 31-ball 25.
But the highlight of the Men in Green’s innings was the Rizwan-Babar stand that plundered 115-run off 142 deliveries.
Babar was looking good and gained momentum, smashing seven boundaries before he was undone by South African all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo on 95-ball 73.
Rizwan will be disappointed for not compiling a century after the hard-fought 82-ball 80, lacing with seven boundaries and three towering sixes.
Salman Agha, who was the player of the match in the last outing against the Proteas for showing his prowess both with the bat and bowl. He was looking good for 30-ball 33, hitting three boundaries and one six.
Kamran Ghulam was lethal with the bat in the death overs, clobbering four boundaries and five sixes.
Irfan Khan looked to threaten the South African bowlers with utter contempt. But Jansen removed Khan on 6-ball 15.
Shaheen Shah Afridi could not extend his well-made 9-ball 16, whacking two boundaries and one six.
Haris Rauf (6), Abrar Ahmed (4) and Abdullah Shafique (0) could not show significant resistance with the bat.
For South Africa, Kwena Maphaka (4-72) picked up four wickets.
Marco Jansen (3-71) took three wickets.
Bjorn Fortuin (1-49) and Andile Phehlukwayo (1-55) took a scalp each.
Tabraiz Shamsi (0-57) and Aiden Makran (0-20) remained wicketless.

Kamran Ghulam was named as the player of the match for adding impetus to the Pakistan's innings with his blistering 32-ball 63 in the death overs.
