The repair work on the water line along University Road is now in its final stages, with 95% of the work completed. The remaining repairs are expected to be finished within the next six hours, according to a spokesperson for the Water Corporation.
Extra collars are being installed to protect the line from damage, and the concrete work for the line has already been completed. Once the repairs are finalized, water supply will be resumed from the Dhabeji Pumping Station, and the lines will be charged to begin water distribution.
To support the restoration, the water level from the downstream Keenjhar Lake and the Indus River has been raised. It takes approximately 14 hours for water to reach the city from the Dhabeji Pumping Station.
The spokesperson confirmed that the water supply to the city will begin to be restored today, marking a significant milestone in resolving the water shortage issue.
