The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration unit arrested Khawar Shahzad, a suspected human trafficker, upon his arrival from Oman at Islamabad International Airport.
Shahzad, accused of human trafficking and visa fraud, had fled the country after allegedly taking money from individuals under the pretense of arranging visas. His name had been placed on the stop list, and a case against him was registered in 2023.
Following his arrest, Shahzad was handed over to the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Lahore for further investigation.
The arrest marks a significant step in the agency’s ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable individuals from exploitation.
