The political committee of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) convened a meeting to review the ongoing protest situation and discuss potential dialogue with the government.
According to sources, during the meeting, some senior PTI leaders proposed initiating talks with the government to de-escalate the tense standoff. Party Chairman Barrister Gohar reportedly sought guidance from the committee regarding possible talks.
Sources further revealed that the committee was briefed on Gohar's recent conversations with PTI Founder Imran Khan at Adiala Jail and the instructions he had provided the previous day.
On the other hand, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that there will be no negotiations with the protesters in Islamabad. Holding a press conference with Information Minister Attaullah Tarar at D-Chowk in Islamabad on Tuesday night, Naqvi said a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif which decided that there would be no negotiations with the protesters, adding that a woman was behind all the loss of life and property in Islamabad.

He also said that the government had clearly decided that there will be no talks, as negotiations are held with peaceful people, not with Afghans and extremists. The PM had decided there would be no negotiations with the protesters, he announced.
This development comes as Rangers, Islamabad Police, and Punjab Police successfully cleared D-Chowk and China Chowk of PTI protesters. The joint action resulted in pushing back the demonstrators to Kulsoom Plaza Chowk and Khyber Plaza Chowk, while a heavy contingent of Rangers and Punjab Police was deployed to secure the vacated areas.
Police teams responsible for firing teargas have been deployed on the rooftops of nearby buildings. Tear gas was intermittently fired to disperse remaining protesters, while several arrests were also made during the operation.
