The main festivities of Baba Guru Nanak’s birth anniversary are in full swing at Gurdwara Janam Asthan, Nankana Sahib.
Sikh pilgrims from around the world, including India, gathered to perform religious rituals and honor the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Additional Secretary Saifullah Khokhar, Chairman of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, and various Sikh leaders, including Sardar Sawant Singh, Sardar Tara Singh, and Dr. Mampal Singh, attended the ceremony.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain emphasized that Pakistan respects all religions and protects the rights of minorities. He reiterated the government's commitment to serving and safeguarding Sikh pilgrims, stating that religious harmony and brotherhood are Pakistan's core values.
Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora urged Sikhs worldwide to visit Pakistan, highlighting the country’s efforts in preserving Sikh religious heritage.
Sardar Harjit Singh Pappa and Gurnam Singh Jasal commended Pakistan’s hospitality and religious freedom, encouraging more pilgrimages to Sikh holy sites.
100 newly constructed rooms and other infrastructure have been added at Gurdwara Janam Asthan to accommodate pilgrims. Free accommodations, meals, transportation, and medical facilities are being provided to attendees.
Gurdwaras, including Bhai Karam Singh and Bhai Joga Singh, are being renovated to enhance the experience for visitors.
Procession
A prayer procession was held from Gurdwara Janam Asthan to Gurdwara Kiara Sahib, with participants chanting slogans of peace and friendship. A spectacular fireworks display lit up the evening sky. A dedicated medical camp was organized under the leadership of Dr. Tanveer.
Strict security measures were implemented to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. As part of the celebrations, Sikh pilgrims are scheduled to visit Sacha Sauda in Farooqabad tomorrow.
The event stands as a testament to Pakistan's dedication to fostering religious harmony and celebrating the shared cultural heritage of the region.
