Popular writer and producer Khalilur Rehman Qamar has turned out to be a strong opponent of the co-education system in educational institutes.
Qamar made this statement when he recently appeared on Samaa TV's program 'Had Kar Di’ and answered various questions from the host Momin Saqib.
When asked about the education system of Pakistan, Khalilur Rahman Qamar said that mix-gender education was the biggest threat to the society. He added that people are reeling from the consequences of such a system and have yet to suffer a lot more.

The ‘Punjab Nahi Jaungi’ writer said he has never promoted obscenity in his films and if an actress wears revealing clothes in a movie he has written, the director has to convince him very hard for it.
He further said he is strongly against co-education, suggesting that there should be separate educational institutions for girls and boys.
In response to another question, Qamar, who catapulted to new heights of fame with his super hit drama serial ‘Mere Paas Tum Ho’, said if a boy is not getting married at the right age, it means he has a lot of female friends.
He added that this was damaging for girls, who should maintain their distance from such boys.

The controversial TV personality further said girls should give a shut-up call to boys who try to exploit them by asking them to be friends, because it's wrong.
Of late, Qamar has been embroiled in various controversies because of his opinions and remarks about women and feminism. He is often criticized for making controversial and misogynistic remarks in his interviews and public appearances. His views on women's roles and rights have sparked outrage and debate.
In March 2020, he appeared in a talk show on a private TV channel with activist Marvi Sirmed where the two got into a heated argument about women’s rights and Aurat March.
Qamar’s misogynistic comments for Sirmed drew widespread criticism from all walks of society. He is also often criticized for making controversial and misogynistic remarks in his interviews and public appearances. His views on women's roles and rights have sparked outrage and debate.
The writer was also involved in a public altercation with actress and model Iffat Omar during a talk show. The argument revolved around gender roles and women's rights, leading to a heated exchange of words.
His criticism was centred around what he perceived as inappropriate slogans and messages.
