Dense smog has caused significant disruptions to flight schedules at Allama Iqbal International Airport, with several flights experiencing delays.
PIA flight PK280, arriving from Doha, was diverted to Islamabad due to poor visibility caused by the heavy fog. Additionally, flight PK203, scheduled to depart for Dubai from Lahore, was delayed by two hours.
According to the PIA administration, the airport's landing system can only accommodate aircraft like the Boeing 777, further complicating operations during adverse weather conditions. Authorities are urging passengers to check flight statuses before traveling to the airport as the region battles severe smog and reduced visibility.
