A polio vaccination team was attacked in Tehsil Silarzai Banda, Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wherein the gunmen opened fire on the team, resulting in the martyrdom of a polio worker and a police officer assigned for security.
The police swiftly responded, cordoning off the area and launching a search operation to apprehend the culprits and the bodies of the martyrs have been moved to Khar Hospital, as the investigation continues.
The attack marks another violent attempt to disrupt polio eradication efforts in the region, despite ongoing security measures.
