The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration at Karachi airport has released its performance report for the past eight months, highlighting significant achievements in immigration control and security.
During this period, the FIA arrested 83 individuals who attempted to travel using fake documents and 28 others who were caught with fake passports. Additionally, 55 suspects were detained on charges related to fake visas and being on the stop list, according to the report.
The report also details that the immigration process was successfully completed for passengers on 16,700 flights, amounting to over two million travellers in the span of eight months.
To enhance the efficiency and accuracy of immigration checks, the FIA has provided direct access of the Interpol database to the departure and arrival counters system. The agency has also equipped its immigration staff with advanced forensic and IT tools, enabling more thorough second-line visa and passport verifications.
In an effort to improve passenger experience, the FIA introduced a QR code system. This system allows passengers to share their opinions and experiences, offering valuable feedback to further enhance the quality of services provided at Karachi Airport.
