A foreign airlines flight en route from Sharjah to Dhaka made an emergency landing at Karachi airport when a 42-year-old passenger on board passed away.
According to airport sources, the passenger's health deteriorated while the flight was on its way to Dhaka.
Recognizing the medical emergency, the flight's pilot immediately sought permission from Air Traffic Control (ATC) Karachi to make an emergency landing. The request was swiftly granted, and flight G-9512 safely landed at Karachi airport, said a Civil Aviation Authority spokesman.
Upon landing, a medical team from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) boarded the plane to assess the passenger’s condition. Unfortunately, after a thorough examination, the medical team confirmed that the passenger had already passed away.
The spokesman said that following the necessary procedures, the body was handed over to the airline by the CAA. The flight, which had been en route from Sharjah to Dhaka, remained on the ground at Karachi airport for approximately two hours before continuing its journey.
