Renowned playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar recently addressed the controversy surrounding an alleged indecent video that went viral on social media, claiming it to be part of a honey trap scheme.
During an interview, he shared his perspective on the incident, which also involved his abduction.
Khalilur Rehman Qamar explained that on the day of his abduction, two individuals recorded an indecent video of him with a woman named Amina Urooj at gunpoint.
He accused the woman of being an active member of the gang involved in this plan. He stated that the abductors coerced him into making the immoral video with her.
“They forced me to take off my shirt,” Khalilur Rehman Qamar recounted. “They demanded that I perform immoral acts, but I was under immense pressure at that time and could not comply.” He further added that after he refused to perform the acts, the abductors did not press him further.
The playwright revealed that he did not file a First Information Report (FIR) for five days due to severe mental stress. He mentioned that although he had informed the police about the video, it was not included in the initial FIR.

The incident reportedly occurred on July 15, with the FIR being filed on July 21, 2024. According to the FIR, around midnight, a woman named Amina called Khalilur Rehman Qamar from an unknown number, expressing her desire to collaborate on a drama project.
However, upon reaching her residence, he was ambushed by armed men who assaulted him, demanded money, and eventually abandoned him in a deserted area.
Following the FIR, social media users questioned why Khalilur Rehman Qamar had gone to the woman's house at night. During a press conference with Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations, he clarified his reasons.
He stated that due to a medical condition, he has been advised to avoid sunlight for the past five years, leading him to work primarily at night. He emphasized that his nighttime meetings were not gender-specific and that he often met with people late at night due to his work schedule.
