Meghan Markle - the Duchess of Sussex - has reportedly extended an olive branch to her father-in-law King Charles by sending a thoughtful gift to Clarence House, according to a royal expert.
Neil Sean, speaking to Fox News Digital, cited a “very well-placed source” in the royal circle who claimed that Meghan sent a curated gift box from her lifestyle brand As Ever to the monarch.
The package reportedly included an assortment of artisanal items such as jams, honey, crêpe mix, and other delicacies. It was accompanied by a personal note from the Duchess.
“This was a gifted idea from Meghan,” Sean stated, adding that the package was “a sample box of delights.”
While the royal family has not officially responded to the gesture, the move is being interpreted by commentators as a possible step towards reconciliation amid ongoing tensions between the Sussexes and the royal household.
Shortly after the reports surfaced, Meghan took to Instagram, not to address the claims directly, but to share her excitement over the latest episode of her podcast Confessions of a Female Founder.
“So excited for you all to hear this latest episode with Girls Who Code and Moms First founder, @reshmasaujani!” Meghan wrote, referring to her guest, activist and entrepreneur Reshma Saujani.
“It was my pleasure to reconnect with her and dig into the real talk about building, balancing, and breaking through! (With babies, no less). How's that for some alliteration?” she added.
The Duchess, who shares two children, Archie and Lilibet, with Prince Harry, has focused on various advocacy initiatives since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, including women’s empowerment, mental health awareness, and parental rights.
While Buckingham Palace has maintained a strict silence on the matter, royal watchers note that Meghan’s gesture could signal a subtle shift in the strained relationship with the British royal family, particularly as King Charles continues to receive medical treatment following his recent cancer diagnosis.
