Citizens of Karachi are facing a significant disruption in their gas supply as a new pipeline is set to be connected to the existing gas system.
The gas supply to Karachi will be stopped from 5am on July 28 to 5am on Monday, causing temporary closures in several areas of the city.
The interruption is due to the connection of a 31km long transmission pipeline with a 24-inch diameter to the total gas system. This essential upgrade aims to improve the overall gas infrastructure and supply in the region.
The affected areas include all blocks of:
- Surjani Town
- North Karachi
- Manghopir
- Qasba Colony
- Orangi Town
- North Nazimabad
- Federal B Area
- Gulberg
- Buffer Zone
- SITE area
- Baldia Town
- Etihad Town
- Mauripur
- Gulshan-e-Maimar
- Ahsanabad
- SITE Superhighway and surrounding areas
A spokesperson for the gas company has confirmed that the gas supply will be suspended in these areas during the specified period. Residents and businesses in the affected zones are advised to take necessary precautions and make alternative arrangements to mitigate the impact of the temporary gas supply disruption.
