Among these heroes is sepoy Atif Jahangir, a fearless warrior who laid down his life while bravely confronting terrorists in South Waziristan on February 11, 2021.
Hailing from Tehsil Gujarkhan of Rawalpindi, sepoy Atif Jahangir Shaheed's valorous spirit and dedication to duty left an indelible mark on his family and community. His parents, overwhelmed with grief yet filled with pride, fondly recall their son's unwavering commitment to his duty.
"My son was a brave and resourceful person who served his duty with utmost bravery," expressed Atif's mother, echoing the sentiments of a proud parent.
"My son's martyrdom has filled us with pride," she continued, "and we are grateful to Allah for the honor bestowed upon him."
Atif's father, reflecting on his son's sacrifice, remarked, "Receiving the news of my son's martyrdom was heart-wrenching, yet we are immensely proud of his noble sacrifice. It is a great honor to be the father of a martyr."
The family's sentiments were echoed by Atif's uncle, who emphasized the significance of Atif's choice to serve his country. "Atif had a burning desire to join the Pakistan Army and serve his nation," he shared. "His martyrdom serves as a guiding light for our future generations."
Amidst their sorrow, the family finds solace in the teachings of the Holy Quran, which remind them that a martyr never truly dies but lives on in the hearts of the people forever.
