Chief of Defence Forces Australia General Angus J. Campbell called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Pakistan, the militry's media wing sad on Sunday.
In a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the discussions between the two military leaders focused on the global and regional security environment, as well as avenues for enhanced cooperation.
Both generals stressed their mutual commitment to expanding military-to-military cooperation, reflecting the deepening strategic partnership between Australia and Pakistan, the statement added.
General Campbell expressed his profound admiration for the high professional standards of the Pakistan Armed Forces. He lauded their remarkable achievements in combating terrorism and acknowledged their ongoing efforts to foster regional peace and stability.
The ISPR added that the meeting concluded with both leaders reaffirming their dedication to continuing collaboration on various defence-related initiatives, aiming to bolster peace and security in the region.
