UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty have become wealthier than King Charles, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2024.
The couple's net worth has grown by over £120 million to £651 million, surpassing the King's wealth of £610 million.
Murty's stake in Infosys, an Indian IT company founded by her father, is the primary driver of their wealth. The family is now the richest residents of 10 Downing Street in history.
Despite King Charles' wealth growing by £10 million, the Sunaks have taken the lead. The King's wealth increased from £600 million to £610 million over the past year.
Meanwhile, the number of British billionaires has decreased for the second consecutive year, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2024. The list shows that 165 billionaires are currently in the UK, down from 177 in 2022.
Euan Blair, the eldest son of former Prime Minister Tony Blair, has also made it to the list as a new entry, ranking 337th.
The decrease in the number of billionaires is attributed to some seeing their private wealth contract amid high borrowing rates and others leaving the country.
