The Supreme Court has upheld its previous decision to order the National Bank of Pakistan to pay Rs60 billion in pension dues to retired employees of the bank.
The National Bank had filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against the pension payment decision.
However, the review appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court after a six-year term, upholding the judgment to award the employees' pensions.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah was conducted the hearing
The Supreme Court upheld its decision and ordered the National Bank to pay pension dues to its 11,500 employees.
In accordance with the ruling, the NBP is slated to pay its retired workers in a month.
