A case of murder was registered at the Rawalpindi Civil Lines police station in the case of alleged killing of former MPA Chaudhry Adnan.
The case was filed by Chaudhry Adnan's brother-in-law, Chaudhry Nadeem Iqbal, shedding light on a complex web of political and business tensions surrounding the incident.
According to the details disclosed in the complaint, Chaudhry Adnan harbored political grudges against individuals, including Chaudhry Tanveer, Chaudhry Daniyal, Chaudhry Changez, and Chaudhry Osama. He was also embroiled in legal disputes with Luqman Kamil, relating to business matters and land transactions.
The complaint also outlined Chaudhry Adnan's concerns for his safety, with repeated assertions that he perceived a threat to his life from the aforementioned individuals. He reportedly made it clear that if any harm befell him, those he identified would be held responsible.
On the fateful day of the incident, Chaudhry Adnan had attended a meeting concerning land-related matters. While returning from the meeting, his vehicle came to a halt at a traffic signal, where two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire on him.

Following the attack, the perpetrators swiftly fled the scene, evading capture and leaving behind a trail of shock and grief. Authorities are now faced with the daunting task of unravelling the complexities of the case, delving into potential motives and tracking down those responsible for the heinous act.
On Monday, Adnan was tragically killed in Rawalpindi. As per reports, unidentified assailants had shot Adnan dead near the city’s Police Lines while his car stopped at a traffic signal.
He was rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to his wounds. The police are actively investigating the incident to apprehend the assailant and bring them to justice.
The deceased had recently contested the general elections as an independent candidate for NA-57 Rawalpindi and PP-19. In the NA-57 constituency, he secured 1,820 votes, while grabbing 2,972 votes in PP-19.
Adnan served as an MPA from 2018 to 2023 under the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ticket.
