The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday restored authority of the Islamabad’s deputy commissioner to issue Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) and temporarily restored the IHC Justice Babar Sattar order.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmoud Jahangiri issued the orders on appeal filed by the Islamabad chief commissioner, The Home Secretary has filed an intra-court appeal.
The court also issued notice to parties on appeal against a single bench decision as the Appellate Court issued a restraining order of the Chief Commissioner and others.
Earlier, IHC Justice Babar Sattar declared the authority to issue MPO illegal.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned the hearing of the contempt of court case against Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and Police officers till tomorrow (Thursday).
Lawyers objected to the court and argued in the court that government employees are doing their studies under difficult conditions, and there is also pressure on them. IHB justice Babar Sattar remarked that it is a case of simple rule of law, we will not transfer to another judge. Should government officials be told to become pawns in a great game? The testimony will be recorded and the hearing will be adjourned till after the election.
During the hearing, Justice Babar Sattar dialogue with the DC Rawalpindi and superintendent Adiala jail “You are don’t presenting the record to the court “. IHC Justice adjourned the hearing till tomorrow (Wednesday).
