Despite facing what he deems an uneven playing field, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Latif Khosa has declared that the party will not boycott the upcoming elections.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Khosa expressed concern over the hindrances faced by PTI in conducting election campaigns.
"We are not being allowed to conduct election campaigns; what kind of level playing field is this when Tehreek-e-Insaf is not permitted to even hold a corner meeting?" questioned Latif Khosa, highlighting the challenges the party is facing.
Khosa further stated that the Election Commission has taken away PTI's election symbol, a move he equated to undermining the very existence of the party.
Despite these setbacks, he emphasised that PTI will not back down and give in to an empty field under any circumstances.
"We have been demanding a level playing field time and again, but we are not being allowed to hold a rally. Section 144 is also seemingly targeted solely at us," remarked Khosa, pointing out the perceived discrimination against PTI.
The senior PTI leader also mentioned rumors of resignations within the Election Commission, expressing concerns about the fairness of the electoral process.
Khosa stressed that the arrest of Shah Mahmood Qureshi was conducted in a manner that brought disgrace to the country.
Refusing to be deterred by these challenges, Khosa firmly asserted, "PTI will not boycott the elections in any case." Despite the obstacles faced, the party remains committed to participating in the democratic process and securing its place on the political stage.
