Renowned poet Munir Niazi’s 17th death anniversary is being observed today (Tuesday).
Born on April 19, 1928, in Hoshiarpur, he later made Lahore his home and embarked on his journey in crafting poignant verses, initially contributing to the world of cinema through his eloquent film songs.
Niazi had possessed a rare gift, which was his ability to intricately interlace the pain of thoughts, dreams, and human emotions into the fabric of his poetry.
His verses skillfully captured the profound essence of the human experience, resonating deeply with readers.
In recognition of his literary prowess, Munir Niazi was bestowed with the President’s Award for Pride of Performance in 1992 and Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 1998.
