Former English football star David Beckham revealed his cricket skills which include batting, bowling, and fielding as he visited India for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.
Beckham, as UNICEF's goodwill ambassador, watched the semi-final of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 between India and New Zealand during his time in India. The owner of Inter Miami CF shared his childhood love for cricket during an interview with bcci.tv. He shared his preference for batting but also expressed his appreciation for bowling and fielding.
Despite his versatility, Beckham feels most at ease as a batsman.
He said, "I played cricket as a kid and always enjoyed batting. But I also like bowling and fielding. Maybe I’m an all-rounder, but I think of myself more as a batter.”
David Beckham, having experienced the electrifying atmosphere at Wankhede Stadium, expressed his admiration for the passion of Indian cricket fans. He even believed they might be louder than football fans.
He added, "You know, I’d usually say football fans are louder, but after being here (Wankhede Stadium), I’m not so sure. The atmosphere was amazing, the fans were creating an electric vibe, and they were very loud, so I’m not so sure.”
