Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah has revealed that Pakistan has initiated discussions with Iran to establish a tourism route, aiming to enhance cross-border travel opportunities.
Speaking at the Pakistan Travel Mart at Expo Center Karachi, Shah emphasized Pakistan’s strategic vision to gain land access to Turkey and Europe through Iran.
“The atmosphere of terror in Karachi has ended, and major investments are being made in the tourism sector,” the minister stated.
Shah confirmed that Pakistan has signed a cultural agreement with Iran at the Chief Minister’s House. “A new era of Pakistan’s development has begun, and the country offers some of the best tourism opportunities in the region,” he added.
Addressing concerns about heritage conservation, Shah acknowledged the importance of preserving Karachi’s ancient buildings, calling them the “beauty of the city.” A dedicated committee has been formed to oversee the protection and restoration of these historical sites.
The three-day Pakistan Travel Mart, inaugurated by Shah, is currently underway at Expo Center Karachi, featuring participation from travel companies representing 16 countries. The event aims to promote tourism and business opportunities in Pakistan.
