The match saw Babar Azam, Pakistan's star batter, take the spotlight as Pakistan chased a target of 254 runs. Despite starting positively, Babar was dismissed for 31 (67), disappointing his fans, but his loyal supporters were still hopeful. Among them was the newly married couple, who didn’t miss the chance to cheer for their favourite cricketer.
According to Pakistani cricket enthusiast and digital journalist Ahtasham Riaz, the couple received a formal invitation from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after the bride requested a photo and autograph with Babar Azam.
The groom, an equally passionate cricket fan, revealed to a private news channel that despite it being their wedding day, he chose to be at the stadium rather than attend the walima. "Today is our wedding day, but I chose to come to the stadium to support Pakistan and my favourite players instead of attending the walima," the groom said.
